Poo Poo Point in the Issaquah Alps is a beautiful northwest hike starting at the Chirico Trailhead (Off Issaquah-Hobart Road SE in Issaquah between Squak Mountain and Tiger Mountain).
It is very popular and sometimes busy, so arriving early helps to avoid the crowds.
We enjoy this hike because of the great climb up with two rewarding view points – one overlooks Mount Rainier and the other looks Northwest and is the take off point for many paragliders!
The Chirico trail is 1.9 miles each way, gaining 1760 feet and the highest point is 1850 feet.

Many people might think of being in their seventies as a time when life slows down. Do you think this is the natural course of aging or could there be a better way to live?
Keeping an Active Lifestyle
I want to share with you the story of one of our patients in her seventies. She is living her life to the fullest at every opportunity.
Her chosen hobby? She loves to row.
Most of you probably know that I was a World Rowing Champion and my wife was an Olympic Rowing Champion. Given my background, you can understand that I am highly interested in helping my patients live active lives.
Chiropractic for Wellness
You might find it surprising that this patient didn’t seek out chiropractic care due to pain. Instead, she uses chiropractic to remain functioning at her highest level. She’s a health-oriented person and wants to continue rowing and playing with her grandchildren for years to come. She knows chiropractic will give her that advantage.
Chiropractic is one piece of the puzzle that helps her live an active, healthy and whole life.
You do not need to slow down your life just because you have more candles on your birthday cake. Call our office today to schedule your visit!
Have you heard of [PJ]’s Run-Walk for Aidan?
Aidan is the son of Anna’s high school cross country and track coaches, Mitch and Mindy Leffler. Mitch and Mindy have made a significant impact in [PJ] as both coaches and teachers, not to mention great friends.
Their son Aidan is an amazing, smart and athletically passioned boy who is 12 years old and has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
This form of muscular dystrophy causes muscle degeneration and weakness in those that it affects.
There is no treatment available to fight the disease.
Mounting Medical Costs
We’ve been participating in the run-walk our community holds to benefit Aidan the last few years. All registration fees from the run-walk go to Aidan’s medical care and expenses, which are substantial. Aidan’s muscles continue to atrophy. He’s currently on some therapies that are working well to keep him strong, and his family is passionate about finding effective treatment, which in turn is helping other families who are affected by Duchennes.
Having Fun While Giving Back
Aidan is an incredibly smart kid who loves soccer and is a light to others, wherever he goes. This race provides [PRACTICE NAME] with a small way to try and give back. Our office participates by running the race and encourages our patients and community members to join in and help out!

By Dr. Robert Cummins – The hot, high-octane fitness craze known as CrossFit has devotees worldwide, but this strength and conditioning program can be punishing on some people’s bodies. I love to help keep these patients going strong at their home.
Taking a Toll on the Body
I see a patient who is in her thirties and is a CrossFit enthusiast.
At her young age, you would not think she would have many problems with pain. Her neck, however, is making it tough for her to continue her chosen sport.
Experiencing Chiropractic’s Healing Abilities
The deterioration she has in her spine is putting pressure on the nerves in her neck, which gives her headaches, nausea and shooting pain and numbness in her arms and legs when she works out. She came to our office about two months ago and has seen amazing progress. The patient is about 85% better and can participate in CrossFit without pain.
Maintaining the Progress
It is important to note that we did modify her workouts to keep the stress on her neck relatively low. It is important to stay away from things that will further aggravate her neck. Due to the severe state it was in, she could risk injuring herself more. We have been able to provide her with guidance that allows her to know what her limits are while still doing what she loves.
Have you considered getting back to doing your favorite activities? We can help you get there. Call our office today!
